I recently found this rather intriguing site through Tech Crunch, a blog I read. Useless Account allows you to set up an account that requires your regular details, plus some extra, rather strange questions. Once you press save, you’re done. That’s it. There is no more. What’s the point? There is none, and that’s the beauty.
Taken directly from the site, here’s why you want one:
- A Useless Account allows you unlimited account editing! You’re bound to use it at least once!
- You’re addicted to signing up to account-requiring websites the moment they’re released just so no one else takes your usual username.
- Get the hot blooded rush of waiting to see if submitting your email address lands you offers of $uper D!$c0unt Ci@li$ (it won’t)
- Upgrade your account creating ability to +20.
- Impress your friends with your ability to tab through form fields and arrow through saved field values!
I signed up for one. It made me laugh out loud when I read about it, I though that it’s creator, Jim Whimpey was very clever. When I found that he was a local to me, and just the same age as me I was even more impressed. Congrats, what a fun, talented designer. Kudos.
